Hello again,

I know it’s a bit late to say, but since this is my first post of 2018 – Happy New Year! This side of winter always feels a little odd to me. The build up to Christmas is over and done with, so January definitely feels a little bland in comparison. I’m not necessarily referring to those January blues we all know and love; it’s more of a limbo sort of feeling. The weather is bleak, and there isn’t a great deal of excitement lingering in the air… I’m pretty much just waiting for spring to come around.

Having said that, although I am becoming pretty excited for spring and all that it entails – the blossom, the sunshine, the little baby animals, to name a few – I am not quite ready yet to start considering a spring palette. This feels a little ridiculous to write about as we are only just into January – but hear me out!

I have a pretty bad habit of browsing online for clothes I do not afford nor need (there, I admitted it), but on a good old little browse the other day I noticed some pastel colours peeping through in the ‘New In’ category of a few store websites. “Already?!” I thought. But then it dawned on me – spring will be here in pretty much no time, think of how fast 2017 whizzed by…

Therefore, I am making the most of the seasonal palette that I adore the most while it’s still here. These trousers I picked up in the January sale (on yet another browsing spree…) are the epitome of A/W. The berry colour makes me feel warm and causes me to have a craving for red wine, which I don’t even like…

Anyway, I adore the ring zip detail – very ’70s if you ask me. Despite still feeling insecure due to overindulging at Christmas (I’m sure I’m not the only one), the tight fit around the waist feels rather flattering, only to pleasantly widen towards the hem of the trousers at a elegant kick flare finish. Think ‘Led Zeppelin meets Jane Birkin’…

So that’s a wrap…

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my first post of 2018!

Until next time,

Thanks for Reading | Lucy Violet x
