Hello again,

Now that we’ve started to settle into September, I’ve had time to contemplate what colour palettes I shall be sporting this season. Similarly to summer, I seem to want to adapt to my surroundings subconsciously. In the spring/summertime, it’s not uncommon to be seen displaying a variety of floral patterns. It’s a cliche, but a perfectly understandable one at that. Once you see the leaves start to change colour to a blissful burgundy, it’s not unheard of to reflect this in your colour schemes regarding outfit choices.

Regardless, browns, blacks, burgundy and beige are always on trend during this time of year. Here are a few items that will be a part of my autumn uniform…

These beauties are a very recent purchase, and a spontaneous one at that. Last Saturday, I strolled into a vintage store and these were the first thing I saw. I picked them up and went straight to the till – No consideration needed! I was instantly drawn to them as I adore stripes anyhow, but the burgundy/brown tone against the black is what stole my heart. I did contemplate afterwards whether they are more appropriate for summertime due to the lightweight, thin material, but a pair of nude-coloured tights will do the trick once the autumnal temperatures hit us in full force.

Here I simply teamed it up with a black Bardot top. However, on colder days I’d throw on a black boyfriend coat for extra warmth. I have been pondering about whether basket bags can be rocked in the autumn lately; they wereย such a hit in the summer that I was left with the impression that maybe that is just what they were made for. But I soon dismissed this theory – the design as well as the colour teamed with the right outfit gives off major autumnal vibes…

Shoe wise, I threw on my favourite pair at the moment – black leather slingbacks. I’ve been lusting after some since I found the perfect nude pair. My search came to a successful, satisfying end – They will be living on my feet this A/W. I’m excited to throw it back to last A/W’s trend and team them up with some fishnet tights under some vintage jeans…

Another recent purchase –ย This. Blouse. I one hundred percent fell in love with it the moment I saw it. I was pretty unsure of the route I wanted to take this autumn style wise, but once I saw this blouse, it was as if it gave me the epiphany of all epiphanies. This one is my leading gal.

You probably caught on to how much I adore tweed/dogtooth lately if you read my ‘Back to School Vibes’ post a couple of weeks ago. It’s definitely a trend that has a kickstart this September, and I predict it won’t be stopping anytime soon…

I adore the little hair piece I included in this ensemble – It gives me major ’90’s minimalism vibes, something I am loving lately…

Top – H&M | Skirt – New Look | Bag – Vintage | Shoes – New Look

This coat is perfect if you want to take a little walk on the wild side when you’re wearing something that is otherwise pretty simplistic. I feel that it is just the epitome of British style in the autumn and wintertime. I think fashion goddess (and one of my number one muses) Alexa Chung had something to do with this trend. She rocks leopard print so effortlessly, and proves that an otherwise ‘controversial’ pattern can be worn with class and elegance…

It also stands out from the classic black boyfriend/smart coat that is widely popular this time of year. Dare to be different, I say!

So that’s a wrap…

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading into a few things I’ll be wearing this autumn!

Until next time,

Thanks for Reading | Lucy Violet x
